The short story of how we got here!.

July 2003

Our Humble Beginnings

Incorporating in July of 2003 as CCSG Inc. (Custom Communications Services group), we started off with a HUGE project installing well over 67 miles of Cat-5e for NMCI Network cabling. Giving us a big jump right out of the gate!
March 2005

Learning to Fly

By 2005, we had started to spread our wings, by picking up a few Sub-contracts with other local communication and electrical companies. It was during this time we discovered our talents were in the private commercial arena!
December 2010

Transition to State Licensed Contractor

2010 started, many changes in this industry. The biggest one for the state of Florida was, that Low-Voltage companies are now required to be licensed by the state. Furthermore, these companies are now required to pull permits in all requiring jurisdictions, when performing this type of work, and must successfully pass a final inspection. We were one of the 1st 1000 licenses issued state wide.

As with all small businesses, each milestone requires recognition, as it marks the success and growth of the company. The 10 year mark shows this company not only survived it's infancy, but has moved up to be an established entity in this community.

With Growth Comes Change!

The Best change was in the Name!
With all new internet protocals and abilities, it was time to get more in line with the new age. After running under an abbreviated corporate name (CCSG) standing for Custom Communications services group, it was time to emplement a new Name that best fit our curernt growth but made a louder statement on the internet. So we applied for our DBA with the NEW name of Jax Low Voltage. This new name not only stood for our stability in the Jacksonville Florida area, but also summed up all of our services to just a 2 word phrase -

Back to our Military Roots!

Working with Army Corp of Engineers!
Making a new connection with the Army Corp of Engineers, we quickly became one of the top preferred Contractors in NE florida for implementing the new security specifications for Recruiting Centers and their Headquaters. These implementations not only include their internal data communcications infrastructure, but also included a complete High Quality CCTV Sureviallence systems integrated with a new video entry/Access control system. To date, we have completed 7 recruting centers, not to mention 2 of the recruiting Headquesters.

Analog Telephone Frame Removal Project Phase 1 of this project was the complete removal of the old PBX BIX Frame (located on the ground floor) and ALL 25-Pair cables running to each floor's IDF. All Bix blades were removed along with each correcponding 25-pair cable. All cross connects were removed and documented to be re-activated after frame removal and new termination blocks were installed. The building utilizes 10 Cisco Voice Gateways to provide standard telephone service to certain departments and devices such as fax machines. So, there was 1 25-pair was left on each floor for these or any other connections needed or already in use.

Date: December 2008 Client: Nemours Category: Communicatons Clean-Up Analog Telephone IDF Removal Project Phase 2 of the above project also involved each IDF located on each floor. (1st - 11th) This included removal of all Cat-3 horizontal cabling, removeal of all Bix termination blocks and cleanup of each floors backboard area. Any active analog phone connections were re-terminatated to a 110 block and were re-crossed to the single 25-pair left behind from phase 1 of this project. Date: 2009 - 2014 Client: Nemours Category: Communicatons Clean-Up 5th Floor Data consolidation and Clean Up. There were several issues with the 5th Floor IDF network rack, that was to be corrected on this project. For starters to comply with local codes, the whole data rack needed to be moved back 11" to accomidate an electrical panel door. Secondly, the data rack did not have any Vertical wire management and needed to be cleaned up. Last, the client wanted to change all the patch panels to angled High Denseity panels to free up more room in the rack. Here are a few before and after pictures.

Date: July 2016 Client: Nemours Category: Communicatons Clean-Up South Side Clinic at Bayard This project was a brand new construction project and included building out a new Data closet, installation of all data and communications cabling, termination of all data and communications cabling to include access control, Television and panic buttons with strobes. Project final included complete trimout of all outlet locations and included printed labeling and compliance certification.

Bond Lane House communications clean up This project consisted of taking the existing communications equipment that was mounted to a backboard above a work space counter and put it all in a new data cabinet that would secure and tidy up this location. Here is a before picture and 3 after pitures.

New communications build out for tenant warehouse/office space. Operating as a distribution center, one project obstical was the size of the space, requiring 2 data cabinets connected by fiber to be able to serve all the equipment and computer stations. This space required new Cat-6 data cabling to all office and cubical outlets(56). New Cat-6 cabling to all Wireless Access points in the offices(2) and in the warehouse area(12). New Cat-6 cabling to "Pack Line"(#1:16 / #2:24).
